google buzzBuzz features had emergence of criticism from Gmail users. They were questioned about privacy. Do not want to continue to receive criticism, Google has refine its new service. There are three reforms are carried out.

First, Google will stop auto-following feature and replace it with the ’suggestion’. Auto-following will automatically connect the user to the person that often send email and chat. After many protests, Google was replaced by only giving reference (suggestion) and the user is free to choose which contacts will be follow.

The second reform, Google will no longer connect to Picasa Web Albums and Google Reader automatically.

And last, Google create the addition of Buzz tab that can be traced in Gmail Settings. This makes the user more free to control their Buzz, whether to hide or totally disabled.

Google Buzz: Social Networking Service From Google

google buzzGoogle released a new product, Google Buzz. This new service will compete with the popularity of social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.

Google Buzz allows users update status, share web links or photos with colleagues directly via Google e-mail service, Gmail. This feature is also compatible for Android based mobile devices. In fact there will be a special application Buzz for the Symbian operating system and Windows Mobile.

Indeed, Google Buzz technology is similiar to a key feature in Facebook or Twitter. Google of course hopes that Gmail users will be using it and attract to users of Facebook and Twitter.

According to Google’s Product Manager, Todd Jackson, Google Buzz will be enjoyed by all Gmail users. Currently, Gmail is 3rd world’s popular free e-mail service after Windows Live Hotmail, and Yahoo Mail.

Many features of Google Buzz will be potential to tempting Internet users. For example, published status messages are automatically indexed and available in real-time search results of Google. Content can be shared easily in a variety of Google’s online products such as Picasa and YouTube.

Meanwhile, as reported by Reuters and quoted, Wednesday (10/2/2010), third-party content such as Twitter can be divided even though the user can not publish a message on Twitter. Unfortunately, Buzz could not display the messages coming from Facebook.

Google previously had tried to take part in social networking services, such as Orkut. But Orkut failed to shine to compared with Facebook. But who knew their luck will change with Google’s Buzz.

Google launches ‘person finder’ for Chile quake victims

As a form of sympathy, Google immediately enable the tool “person finder” to help the earthquake victims, or even find friends who lost their families.

Tool that can be accessed at Chilepersonfinder.appspot.com is available in two languages, namely English and Spanish.

Users who use this tool will be presented with the question “What is your situation?” and there are two choice situations, ie “I’m looking for someone” and “I have information about someone

Then users can search data by typing the name person. This tool also been provided by Google to help search for earthquake victims in Haiti some time ago.
