Mitsubishi has announced a new series of HDTV with led screen between 40 and 55 inches, the new series are 154, 164 and 265, called Unisen Immersive Sound LED TV.The new televisions with 120Hz pictures refresh rate and LED backlighting features, with 16 of soundbar speakers, preparedness for connecting to social networks and portals of the most known and used, like Facebook, Twitter, Flickr or Pandora, 4 doors HDMI and USB outputs for surround complete the equipment of the new HDTV.

The 164 series is also equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for streaming audio and video, while the Diamond 265 series adds to the amount previously described in 2 soundbar speakers (18 speakers), 240 Hz refresh rate to control iPhone remote optional.Prices range from $ 1,699 for 40-inch 164 series and $ 3,199 for 55-inch 265 series. Due to a similar technology like butterfly wings, the screen display for handheld devices can be more efficient to use energy. Even more efficient than e-ink technology.

Technology called Mirasol has inspired by the workings of butterfly wings to display the colors, by reflected light. As quoted from the LA Times, Tuesday (02/16/2010), the technology has been introduced by Qualcomm.

The screen does not require light from behind (backlight) to strengthen the screen like most LCD. This makes them more efficient.

Qualcomm dare to claim Mirasol more efficient than e-Ink a technology used in Kindle from Amazon. In the same use, E-Ink can last 7.3 days on a single battery, while Mirasol able to transcend them to 8.6 days.

The gadget based on Mirasol Tecnology would be presented before the end of 2010. No news in more detail about the plan, but Qualcomm has been shows the screen prototypes of Mirasol Tech.
